Suspension & Brakes, Rims & Tyres / Re: Shock / coilover for 2016 vitara
« Last post by admin on May 20, 2019, 03:17:38 PM »
Anyone find the ride for 2016 vitara too stiff or uncomfortable over uneven surface? Do you think is suspension or tyre issue? Anyone upgrade the shock / coilover? Please advise, thank you

Have you checked your tyre pressures? If it is within OEM specs, then it would seem that the suspension is too hard. Not sure if you are using aftermarket coilovers (in which case you can adjust them softer). Otherwise, you can consider getting new OEM struts or even aftermarket coilovers so you will have better adjustability.

Changing to 225 is ok. For 235 with 16 inch rims, please do check your steering clearance from lock to lock to make sure it doesn't rub on the fenders. What new rims are you considering?

It is normal for a car to idle higher when doing a "cold-start". 1,500rpm sounds about right for a "cold-start" idle and 900rpm thereafter sounds perfectly fine as well. You don't have anything to worry about.
