  • guys, i just bought a 1.5m ignis sport after looking through sgcarmart for a few days.. car overall is good but i feel lacking power by quite a lot.. been reading up online but not much options for increasing power..

most say to go the turbo charge route is the only way to feel the kick.. anyone ignis sport done this before? any workshop to recommend?
    awaiting 2012 swift sport.. chio!!

  • should not la... M15 engine esp the IS one cannot take boost v well as the cylinder will "rock". Open deck engine design, not good for TC.

  • hey bobby, I'm not an ignis user. But I probably think turbocharging your ride is a love/hate option. Because it might not be very beneficial for your engine and cause it to be put under stressed and thus might damage your engine. However I know the power output that is awaiting at the other side of the turbocharge gateway is super tempting. For me, I am driving a swift 1.5 auto. So I know my gearbox might not be very good for tuning. So what i intend to do will be, to change the crank pulley. intake, exhaust. tune ecu. lighter rims. probably tat's about it for me. my 50 cents worth! :D

  • There's lots of TC kits on the M15A.
Zage, Taiwan makes off the shelf kit for the M15A, "plug & play". I believe the agent is MacWell

There's a few points you need to take note.
The M15A Ignis is different from the M15A Swift. Ignis M15A is running on a "high"-compression set up. I believe is 11:1. Preformance is close to the M16A on a Swfit Sport. M15A on Swift is running on 9.5:1 compression.

    1. If you want to TC the Ignis engine. You may want to consider lowering your compression.
    2. Need to upgrade your front brake system. A 4-pot would be enough. Power without control is very dangerous.
    3. You will need other items, performance radiator, oil cooler for heat management. And gauges for monitoring

All in all...you maybe looking around $9K just on parts, if they are brand new. Depends on how far u want to take it. I have driven a 250Bhp M15A Swift which can out drive a stock WRX on the Sepang. Its scary.
