  • It's the driving habit, maybe. My car gives a mileage of 250 km at half tank, 480 km at close to empty tank.
A good tuning car must be something that you can take out to the streets.  The car must be fun, fast and safe on all kinds of road conditions.

  • Hi guys,

am new here. noticed this thread about FC. i am driving a '06 swift 1.5m. am getting around 12km/l for city driving & 14km/l for expressway driving (along Malaysia north-south highway @ 130-150km/h). if in SG expressway, i can hit 16km/l @ 90-110km/h. typically 1 full tank lasts me 420-450km. i hit 530km once when driving mainly expressway in SG. oh yeah i coast a lot since mine is manual transmission, i think it helps big time.

In fact, I'm a light footed.
I did light foot and I hit 350km(from full to empty).
Then, I tried heavy foot(ram the accelerator) and I hit 380km.
Never this car hit above 450km.

It's the 5th tank and this car never hit above 400km per tank.
Is there something wrong with this car?

  • Check fuel filter, spark plugs, fuel RON. Use 15" lightweight rims and ensure your tyres have sufficient air.

Make sure you are on stock IHE.

Probably the only stuff one is able to do. Try it out and let us know =)

though it is recommended to follow the manufacturer's recommendation on tyre pressure, personally i like to over-inflate my tyres to reduce rolling resistance which in turn improves FC as well. but the trade off is a harsher ride and probably more noise. i typically inflate mine at around 235-240kpa.

    Thank you, Bro Jordan.

When i purchase this car in January, it comes with 16" rims and low profile tires.

    Thanks for the recommendation.
When purchase, Reseller told me the car had been Service.
Thus, I will do a Service again to ensure these change and see if i get improvement.

    Will update after.

    Thanks again, Bro Jordan.

  • start stop start traffic is the sole problem for less mileage...
At quarter tank, 160km and i arrived at 255km half tank for the whole week of expressway route doing CNY errands. It was my best record...on 15x8.25jj stretched.

thus far, full tank hovers 420-460km even during the 1st 2months using 16"rims,stock intake, stock factory tune.

  • I just bought a used '06 Swift 1.3A last month.  Getting about 14km/L for my first few tanks.

I was expecting 13km/L before buying the car so the extra km/L is a bonus to me.

So far, I am very impressed with the ride comfort, quietness and smoothness from the engine and the tranny.

  • awesome option!
Suzuki is a petrol saver and responsive compact car to move about!
Lightweight of the swift provides quick pickup & agility !
i am currently getting 11.8-12.5km/L, and i tend to wanna arrive sooner at the swift sweet spot 2800rpm+++ before changing gears.every second gear to third arriving at 100 seemed less than 8seconds!

keep it going the next 10yrs!
